Wilbur Ross' Dream Team
Following his investment in the Bank of Cyprus, Wilbur Ross has proposal a ‘dream team’ Board of his contemporaries, whom he would like to see elected come the November 20 Annual General Meeting.
The new Board has been selected to add financial expertise and will better reflect the shareholder base following the recent stock issuance, Ross explains.
The US billionaire has named Dr. Josef Ackermann, former CEO of Deutsche Bank, as his first choice for Chairman.
And Wilbur Ross is adamant: Dr. Josef Ackermann is the right person to fill the position of Chairman of the Bank of Cyprus (BoC), and during an interview with CNBC, the US-based billionaire explains why.
“We’ve had dealings with him for a very long time through Deutsche Bank,” he begins. “I have a great respect for him, particularly as a strategical manager, and as BoC clears up its delinquent loan portfolio, which is its most immediate issue, it then needs to develop a strategy, a geographic strategy, a strategy for how to deal with mobile banking, and for how to deploy its resources, so I think Dr. Ackermann is uniquely positioned to deal with all of these issues.”
Ross’ nominations are in: now, read on for the dream team’s biographies in getting to know the potential new Board of Cyprus’ largest lender.
