Consulco City Dialogue: What Distinguishes London And Limassol?

Consulco City Dialogue: What Distinguishes London And Limassol?

Consulco gets the London and Limassol policy makers together to discuss the differences and similarities they share as global investment hubs and what they can learn from each other.

Two seemingly distinct cities with a lot in common.

On the one hand, the capital of the United Kingdom with a population of 9.5 million people. One of the most well-known cities in the world, as well as a renowned investment destination. Despite the Brexit and epidemic challenges it has faced, the city of London remains one of every investor's first options. As a significant international metropolis, it is at the epicenter of continuous regeneration and investment initiatives, ensuring its economic significance.

Limassol, on the other hand, has discovered its pace and achieved to capture the attention of the investing world. Its 154,000 residents saw their city vastly outweigh the rest of the country – commercial-wise – and attract the interest of foreign investors. What if COVID-19 hit and the present Ukrainian situation has jolted the city? Cyprus advantages as a base for international companies retain Limassol as an ideal destination for foreign companies and business owners.

The arrival of technology behemoths who saw considerable opportunities also played a big influence, resulting in a physical presence in Limassol, the acquisition of offices, and the transfer of a huge number of expert individuals.

Two Hubs… on stage

Consulco returns on June 16th, 2022 for another spectacular digital event titled " Resilient Cities: London and Limassol." This time, the company is assembling key policy makers of London and Limassol to examine the contrasts and similarities between the two global investment hubs, with an emphasis on what they can learn from one another.

The following will attend our event as speakers, representing the two cities:

  • Consulco, a specialist investment manager, structuring and managing real estate, credit and private equity investments in London and Europe.
  • London Councils, the cross-party organization that works on behalf of all of their member authorities, making the case to government, the Mayor and others to get the best deal for Londoners.
  • Westminster City Council, the local authority for the City of Westminster in Greater London, England, responsible for setting planning policies which complement Greater London Authority and national policies.
  • New London Architecture, the world’s leading centre for excellence for the built environment, whose purpose is to make London a better place to live, work and visit.
  • Primera Corporation, a regeneration consultancy providing a wide range of services to the public, private, voluntary, community and partnership sectors.
  • Municipality of Limassol, supporting and promoting the economic and social life of the city through major initiatives and infrastructure projects, making Limassol a lifestyle destination for local and foreign residents.
  • Limassol Chamber of Commerce & Industry, an organisation which defends Limassol business community’s interests and promotes the economic development of the district.
  • CIBA, a non-governmental independent association which represents and safeguards the interests of the international businesses with operations in Cyprus.

Comprehensive agenda

To arrive at their findings, the speakers will first try to identify what is similar and what is different in the two cities' strategies for attracting international investment.

Following that, the participants of the virtual conference will discuss the similarities and contrasts in their economies' recovery from covid-19.

London and Limassol are both centers of international investment. The presenters will provide an overview of the numerous themes that will be discussed, allowing attendees to better grasp the fascinating analyses that will follow. Consulco’s Conference will cover the challenges and opportunities presented by the two cities as international investment destinations and will be followed by a debate in which significant conclusions regarding the areas and their prospects are likely to be formed.
