As UMAR|WSR head towards the end of a successful 2019, they begin to think about the new year. 2020 is a huge milestone for them, as they will be celebrating their 20th anniversary! UMAR|WSR have come a long way since the business was first founded back in 2000 and they thank their staff and clients who have stood by them to build the business to the success it is today.
To mark the occasion, they will be celebrating in two ways. Firstly, they’d like to proudly introduce UW Group and its logo, that they’ve had specially designed, in a minimal and modernised way to be embraced by all of the Group companies. The letter U stands for UMAR Shipping Services and the letter W stands for WSR Services, the first two subsidiary companies of the Group. UMAR|WSR, represent some of the largest organizations in the maritime industry, and handle almost 1000 customers, with more than 6500 vessels all around the world, from five strategic locations.
One of their main goals over the coming year is to analyse every aspect of their business and maintain their high quality and values, to ensure that they are working in the most environmentally sustainable and socially responsible manner, in everything they do. More importantly, they are making changes for 2020, and beyond, to ensure that UW Group and its subsidiary companies UMAR|WSR focus, is on their corporate social responsibility. The Life Jacket Foundation was set up specifically so their businesses could help the community and young children in need.
So this year they have decided, that starting from this Christmas, instead of sending out gifts to their clients, they’ll do something even more worthwhile. They will spread kindness by making sizeable donations to children that need health care or any kind of health support for a happier Christmas, a better future in 2020 and beyond. UMAR|WSR feels that this is in keeping with the Christmas spirit of giving.
It’s the perfect time of the year to help those less fortunate than ourselves and UMAR|WSR are excited to have everyone alongside them to share that journey with them. A number of activities will follow in 2020 to rejoice their 3rd decade that will be announced shortly, so stay tuned and celebrate UMAR|WSR’s platinum anniversary with them.
