Eleven Years Later, Bank Of Cyprus Reinstates Promotions For Its Employees

Bank of Cyprus announced today upgrades within the Group that relate with internal promotions. This marks an important milestone, wince the last time promotions were given was eleven years ago. The last decade has brought a slew of changes for the Bank, especially after the 2013 financial crisis, which resulted in the promotion freeze.

The following is a message from the Bank’s CEO Panicos Nicolaou:

Dear colleagues,

In a rapidly and radically changing market, the Bank of Cyprus Group must offer its clients the knowledge, means and certainty they need, helping them make the right decisions about their lives, succeed in their goals, and make their dreams come true.

It is you, our staff, who are key to forging a modern and viable bank. And that is why we want you to grow, to develop new skills and tools that will assist you in remaining an integral part of our operations, now and in the future.

Meanwhile, we are pleased to announce various upgrades within our Group for those whose time has come to take the next step forward in their careers. These are the first upgrades in roughly a decade, given that such advancements were put on hold due to the special circumstances.

Our selection process was based on specific and objective criteria, utilizing a standard assessment method, in this way ensuring a meritocratic and transparent system.

The factors we took into account included advancement potential, the value of the position, the assessments of the past three years, successful completion of tasks in previous and current positions, as well as years of service in the position and/or within the Group.

Today's promotions are an important step in recognizing and rewarding our staff. But they also signal how we think of a modern bank and a workplace that delivers on its commitments, a bank that fosters strong ambition and affords people the opportunity to be creative and become part of our vision.

Thank you for the hard work that you put in each and every day.

Together, we shall take Bank of Cyprus into the future.
