Journeying to Microsoft HQ with S.E.C.S.
A team of just four local students of Cyprus’ Frederick University accomplished a great feat in July, outperforming some 150 teams from 65 countries through the Microsoft Imagine Cup programme and competition, which provides students across the globe from all disciplines the opportunity to use their creativity, passion and knowledge to create applications, games and integrated solutions that can change the way we live, work and play.
On July 27, the SmartEcologicalCultivationSystem team – or S.E.C.S for short – travelled to the American multinational corporation’s headquarters in Redmond, Seattle, to participate in the highly anticipated Imagine Cup finals.
The competition’s finals saw S.E.C.S. present their project, an ingenious system for agricultural production, to the elite judging panel, evaluate their business model during a round of ‘hands-on’ judging, showcase their solution to Microsoft employees and the general public, and more.
Gold News was there every step of the way to witness first-hand the S.E.C.S. students’ incredible Imagine Cup experience.
Here, we journey with the Cypriot team to Microsoft’s HQ through the lens of the Gold News camera.
