ECOMMBX: All for One and One for All!

ECOMMBX: All for One and One for All!

As the world is rapidly evolving and technology continues to advance at an incredible pace, the recent pandemic has abruptly forced people around the globe to pause, take a deep breath, and recognize that mental health, empathy and being there for each other is actually of vital importance both at home and at work.

At ECOMMBX, this recognition has always been one of our core values from day one. Our corporate culture was, is and will continue to be based on nurturing an approach that embraces the human essence as much as the employee essence, and understands that they are inseparable.

As Lawrence Bossidy said, “At the end of the day, you bet on people, not on strategies.” The human aspect has always been our top priority, which is why the challenges of the pandemic actually brought our team even closer, as we supported each other personally while at the same time helping our company thrive despite the turbulent times.

Our people are not treated as numbers with performance percentages; they are respected as individuals who have families and dependents, struggles, dreams and ambitions. ECOMMBX stands by its members, both on a personal and on a professional level, because that is the way to ensure that when they come to work every morning, they bring their heart with them.

At ECOMMBX we know that character is paramount and worth investing in. Our recruitment and training processes have therefore always been selective and well targeted: We hire character, and we develop skillsets, using several recruitment and training channels as well as referrals from our own people. By offering our people the necessary space and fertile ground to grow, we have created the ideal conditions that motivate them to also grow and achieve the company’s goals.

Even during the years of the pandemic, our recruitment and training programmes were not interrupted. On the contrary, they increased substantially through online interviews and trainings. Such online communication options have now been adopted in our standard selection and training processes, to be used whenever appropriate or necessary.

The pandemic has also made us more flexible in other ways. For example, the company’s Work from Home scheme that was successfully implemented at the time, is now still available upon request for those who feel more comfortable working from home for a number of days for personal reasons. In addition, working on rotation was an equally effective and well-received scheme for team members who had to be present in the office due to the nature of their work, and conducted virtual meetings with customers and colleagues.

Also as recently announced, ECOMMBX is proud to be the first company in Cyprus which successfully implemented a 4-day working schedule offering our members even more flexibility and maximum freedom to spend their free time as they wish. The result has been remarkable; the 4-day schedule has boosted even more our employee well-being, increased productivity and performance, reduced absences, and dropped turnover to almost nil.

Overall, the main takeaway is that a company which stays focused on its vision, wants to stand out and excel must cherish and treat its people as what they are – as humans. This is how ECOMMBX prevails in all aspects and has also earned its certification as a Great Place to Work. Because our people see ECOMMBX not only as an employer but also as a second home, a family by choice, an advisor, mentor and one of their best friends. In the good and the not-so-good moments, we’re always there. We are One. We are ECOMMBANX!
