The Ministry of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism and the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) are organising a Workshop on ‘Renewable Energy Applications for Island Tourism’, due to take place in Paphos between May 29 and 30.
The opening speech will be delivered by Minister of Energy, Commerce, Industry, and Tourism, Yiorgos Lakkotrypis. On the second day of the workshop, President Nicos Anastasiades will address the delegates.
The agenda of the workshop, to be attended by around 80 delegates from more than 20 countries, includes the presentation of successful renewable energy applications and technologies that can potentially be deployed in island tourism in the near future, as well as the discussion of best practices and policies applied in promoting renewables in Cyprus and abroad.
The objective is the exchange of experiences and information between stakeholders in the tourism sector, with the goal of tackling common challenges.
