The Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, has reaffirmed his country`s principled position on the Cyprus problem, as well as its determination to continue to promote cooperation between the two countries.
The new Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to Kuwait, Michael Mavros, presented on August 16, his Letters of Credence to the Emir of Kuwait, at a special ceremony that took place in Bayan Palace in the City of Kuwait, in the presence of the country’s Foreign Minister, Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Sabah.
According to a press release issued by Cyprus` Foreign Ministry, conveying the cordial greetings of the President of the Republic, Nicos Anastasiades, Ambassador Mavros, among other things, reaffirmed "the commitment of the government of Cyprus to the further upgrading of relations and to the strengthening of the bonds of friendship between Cyprus and Kuwait, both at the bilateral and regional level, as well as on the international scene."
Reciprocating the cordial greetings of President Anastasiades, the Emir of Kuwait expressed the appreciation of his country to the Republic of Cyprus for the cooperation and for its steadfast support and used the occasion to reaffirm Kuwait’s principled position on the Cyprus problem, as well as its determination to continue to promote cooperation between our countries.
