Cyprus, Greece and Egypt FMs Agree To Further Strengthen Cooperation

Cyprus, Greece and Egypt agreed on Tuesday to further strengthen the cooperation between them aiming to create conditions of security and stability in the Eastern Mediterranean region, in the context of a tripartite meeting at FM level, which took place on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, in New York. 

Foreign Affairs Minister Ioannis Kasoulides took part on Tuesday morning in the opening of the work of the General Assembly, during the opening speech of the Secretary General of the UN, Antonio Guterres. 

Afterwards, he participated in the Tripartite Meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus, Greece, Egypt during which the Ministers discussed the ways of further strengthening the multilateral cooperation of the three countries in a wide range of fields.

All sides emphasised mutual partnership with the aim of creating conditions of security and stability in the Eastern Mediterranean region.

On Tuesday, Kasoulides also had bilateral meetings with Foreign Ministers of Moldova, North Macedonia and Morocco, while he also met with the UN High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations, Miguel Angel Moratinos.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs participated in a tripartite meeting in the form of a working dinner of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus, Greece and Serbia.
