Invest Cyprus Supports 2 Cyprus Seeds Teams In The ‘’MITEF Greece Startup Competition’’ Finals

In December 2020, Cyprus Seeds and Invest Cyprus announced the winners of a new Award program to celebrate entrepreneurship leading the way in technology and innovation in Cyprus. The Teams to receive the “Invest Cyprus: Invest in the Commercialization of Entrepreneurship” Award were: (1) AIRMOS: Artificially Intelligent Real-Time Drone Monitoring Tactics to Safeguard Sensitive Facilities, and (2) DIMEC: Direct In-vivo Monitoring of the Endometrial Cavity.

The 2 winning teams, with funding from Invest Cyprus, as well as the other 3 research projects of the first cohort of Cyprus Seeds program, got selected for the five-month accelerator program for start-ups, organised by the prestigious MIT Enterprise Forum Greece (MITEF) in Athens. MITEF Greece is an affiliate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) which helps enable technology entrepreneurs to rapidly transform ideas into world-changing companies.

32 startups have participated in the Startup Competition aiming to grow their business skills and global network through a series of carefully designed workshops by local and international partners, mentoring sessions, and networking events. The 2 Cyprus Seeds Teams, awarded by Invest Cyprus, are among the 12 finalists of the competition.

The continued support of Invest Cyprus to Cyprus Seeds highlights Cyprus' significant potential for promoting innovation in scientific research.
