Compliance has become an essential aspect of the activities of all regulated entities, from banks and investment firms to insurance companies, Forex brokerages, Law and Accountancy Firms and Administrative Service Providers, while other companies are obliged to comply with statutory requirements. Given Cyprus’ status as an international business centre, all companies operating on the island have to comply with (a) the external rules that are imposed upon the organisation as a whole and (b) implement internal systems of control that are imposed to achieve compliance with these rules.
The term ‘RegTech’ was coined in 2015 by the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), which described it as “A subset of fintech that focuses on technologies that may facilitate the delivery of regulatory requirements more efficiently and effectively than existing capabilities.” In simple terms it refers to any technology that ensures companies comply with their regulatory requirements.
In addition to an interview/article on Compliance/Regulatory Technology, the February 20 issue of GOLD will include a special promotional feature on Compliance & RegTech, offering providers, companies and regulated entities in all sectors the opportunity to present their compliance operations/departments and/or their products and services in a double-page spread.
The material for publication must be sent complete and in compliance with the above requirements by Wednesday February 9, 2022.
