DP World has been selected as a winner of the 2018 CIPA International Investment Awards.
The award was presented to Charles Meaby, CEO of DP World.
With a portfolio of 78 ports in 40 countries across 6 continents, the top priority of DP World is to promote international trade, ensuring positive results for the economies and societies of the countries in which it operates. In January 2017, DP World Limassol took over the management and operation of the Multipurpose Terminal at Limassol Port, which it aspires to make more productive and more sustainable, improving the port’s long-term prospects, leading to better support to the community through job creation and better services for the wider Cypriot business community. It aims to invest in all sectors of Limassol port, offering modern trade-enabling solutions and top-quality service in the areas of break-bulk, general cargo, Roll on-Roll off, and oil & gas services. DP World Limassol is dedicated to promoting the development of tourism in Cyprus and driving economic benefits for both the local and national economy. On May 3rd 2018, it inaugurated its brand-new cruise terminal, with the aim of enhancing Limassol’s position on the global cruise tourism map.

Meaby said that it is part of the Group’s legacy to infuse innovation throughout its operations and highlighted that DP World Limassol’s continuous investment in all areas of the port opens up new opportunities for the Cypriot economy. “We aim at developing high-quality trade-enabling solutions which will benefit the local and national economy, as well as the local community,” he added.

Every year, the CIPA International Investment Awards are presented to a small number of foreign investors in Cyprus.
This year, the 7th CIPA honour international investors, individuals and companies in recognition of their substantial contribution to the Cyprus economy.
The awards are organised by Gold magazine and the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency (CIPA) and the ceremony takes place under the auspices of the President of the Republic, Nicos Anastasiades.
Among the guests attending the ceremony are politicians, businessmen, foreign investors and professionals from the services sector.
This year’s CIPA International Investment Awards are presented by PwC Cyprus. The Gold Sponsor of the event is Eurobank Cyprus and the Silver Sponsors are TFI Markets and Grey Goose Vodka.
