The Future of Professionalism in the Built Environment

The Future of Professionalism in the Built Environment

IMH is organising the 13th Real Estate Conference on 22 May 2019 at the Hilton Park Hotel in Nicosia.  This is traditionally the biggest gathering of professionals from the Cyprus Real Estate sector that offers the latest market trends and developments, highlights issues of concern to the sector and explores emerging opportunities. This year’s event will look at the recent trends and developments in the local Real Estate market, with a focus on Government policy on land development issues.

One of this year’s speakers is the Director of Corporate Affairs (Europe) of RICS, Sander Scheurwater. Scheurwater is a Dutch national and has studied economics at the Erasmus University of Rotterdam where he majored in sociological economics. In his current role, he assists with fulfilling RICS’ aim to inspire trust and confidence in real estate and construction markets, as well as provide expert advice to decision makers and markets, focusing on policy, brand development, thought leadership, media and communication and market adoption of our standards and our qualifications. In his presentation, Scheurwater will discuss the future of professionalism in the built environment. He believes that technological development, climate change and urbanisation are increasingly affecting cities and people’s lives. To design, create and maintain spaces where people live or want to live, work and play requires skilled professionals. Scheurwater will help us understand which skills are needed for the future and the role of professionals will have in building this future.
