Global Developments in Transfer Pricing: How to Tackle BEPS

IMH and the Cyprus Fiduciary Association are organizing the Cyprus Professional Services Conference on Friday, 17th November 2017. The conference will focus on bringing together the leaders of the tertiary sector of the Cypriot economy as well as international experts, to present and discuss the latest developments and trends in the field.

This year, the Forum will provide an overview of the international wealth management trends of high net worth and ultra high net worth individuals. In addition there will be an analysis of international tax developments and transfer pricing. Quoted by Bloomberg and the Wall Street Journal amongst others, Anis Chakravarty will be joining us to review the recent global developments in transfer pricing, particularly in reference to the OECD’s Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (“BEPS”) framework. Chakravarty is a partner with Deloitte’s transfer pricing practice in India and tax-aligned supply chain and implementation of cross-border structures. He is a co-leader of Deloitte’s Global Economists Network leading the intellectual property initiative in the Asia-Pacific region, and has assisted a number of multinational companies realign and optimize their transfer pricing policy, benchmark returns for intellectual property and implement royalty rate structures.

In addition to transfer pricing and the Forum aims to analyze international and local data that have defined the Professional Services sector in recent years. The strategic position of Cyprus in relation to the fact that it is a member state of the EU, the Legal and Competitive Tax System it has developed, as well as its well-trained workforce, are only some of the factors that make Cyprus an ideal business destination. Cyprus is recognized as an international centre of excellence for the provision of professional services and this year’s event wants to provoke constructive thinking within the local sector to help maximize the industry’s potential.

The theme of this year’s forum is to stimulate the exploration of new opportunities within the professional services field in Cyprus, especially in the tax, transfer pricing and wealth management of HNWI sectors. By welcoming various international experts from several economic powerhouses around the globe, the forum aims to provide its audience with a fresh outlook on how to develop their professional services and how to adapt to the ever-changing trends.

The 4th Professional Services Forum which will take place on the 17th November 2017 at Hilton Park Hotel, Nicosia will bring together not only banking and financial institutions, accounting/audit/tax companies, asset management, investment companies and law firms, but also various international Financial Centre Executives.
