Harris Georgiades Appointed Chairman of EBRD

Cypriot Minister of Finance Harris Georgiades has been elected Chairman of the Board of Governors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for the period 2014-2015. 

 

Georgiades announced his appointment via a message published on his personal Twitter account on Thursday afternoon.

 

“Honored and privileged to serve as Chairman of the Board of Governors of the EBRD for 2014-15” he wrote. 

 

The Finance Minister confirmed, also via the social media site, that the EBRD has decided to commence operations in Cyprus.
