Alex Halavins Receives YoungShip Leader Award

Alex Halavins, general manager of V. Ships and ship management operations in Cyprus has received the YoungShip Leader Award in recognition for his contribution – professionally and personally to the maritime sector in Cyprus.

According to Hellenic Shipping News, the awards ceremony, organised by YoungShip Cyprus was held on 17 November at the Columbia Plaza in Limassol, and attended by more than 300 guests representing the maritime industry of Cyrprus. Alex was presented with his award by president of WISTA International, Despina Panayiotou Theodosiou.

Maurice Baker, V.Group’s Group Director, Ship Management West says: “I am delighted that Alex has been recognised for his efforts to the maritime sector in Cyprus. Along with his team, Alex is an active member in his local community, something which is very important to our business.”

The awards were established in collaboration with WISTA Cyprus in 2016 to reward and acknowledge the active participation and contribution of the nominees, both in the maritime industry, as well as in other social or charitable activities.
