Unity Fest: Bi-Communal Music Festival

On Tuesday 27 June at 7.30pm people from across the island will come together in the moat area at Ledra Palace Hotel, inside the UN-controlled buffer zone, for UNITY FEST, a bi-communal festival that aims to use music to bring the youth of both communities closer.

Headlining the evening's programme at UNITY FEST are the well-known swing jazz band Gadjo Dilo and the popular singer Fikri Karayel.

Also playing at the event by invitation, after being chosen from a host of applicants following an open call, are:

Katakathia, from Limassol
George Sidiropoulos, from Nicosia
Limestone, from Nicosia
Stonus, from Nicosia
Swinging Souls, from Paphos
Bunfyah, from Famagusta

UNITY FEST is co-organized by the Bi-communal Peace Initiative - United Cyprus, a platform that represents more than 70 organizations and groups from both communities, the European Parliament Information Office and the European Commission Representation in Cyprus.

UNITY FEST is supported by the Home for Cooperation, the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus, the Embassy of the United States, the Embassy of Sweden and the Famagusta Youth Center (MAGEM). The event is sponsored by the Cyprus Youth Board, Synergia media, C.G Georgallis music stores and Golden Insurance.

Entrance to the festival is free of charge.

There will be buses free of charge for transportation from all the main cities of the island to the festival. For reservations and information please call 99386454 or 0533 830 88 68.


Buses Schedule:

LARNACA: Departs from Finikoudes bus station at 18:45

LIMASSOL: Departs from Neo Limani bus station at 18:20

PAFOS: Karavella bus station at 17:30

FAMAGUSTA: Departs from the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) at 18:15, then departs from Ayios Georgios bus station at 18:45

KYRENIA: Leaves from the Municipal car park (Baldoken) at 18:45

All buses will depart from Ledra palace at 00:05 to their city destinations.
