Cyprus Airports to Break 10-Million Passenger Barrier In 2017

Cyprus Airports to Break 10-Million Passenger Barrier In 2017

There has been unprecedented air traffic at the airports in Larnaca and Paphos with Sunday seeing 347 flights transporting 60,000 passengers in and out of Cyprus.

According to airport operator Hermes Airports spokesman Adamos Aspris, this constituted a new record in flight numbers for the two airports, In-Cyprus reports.

He also noted that the flights have taken place without a hitch.

Of the 347 flights, 175 for arrivals and 172 departures. Most involved flights to and from the UK, Russia, Greece, central Europe, and Israel, Aspris said.

The number of passengers using the airports at Larnaca and Paphos has already soared to 5.5 million so far this year, while Hermes Airports estimates air traffic will break the 10 million-passenger barrier before the end of 2017.
