Blue Air Dinner With Cyprus Media Groups

Blue Air Dinner With Cyprus Media Groups

A dinner organized by Blue Air in collaboration with the airline’s General Sales Agent Orthodoxou Aviation took place on Thursday October 24th in the honor of the executives of Cyprus media groups.

Blue Air’s Chief Commercial Officer Mr. Carsten Schaeffer had the opportunity to inform the guests about the current and future plans of the airline, and he also had offered answers to various important questions that concern both the media and the wider passenger public.

The questions primarily focused on issues such as the recent developments in the aviation sector and how these affect the Blue Air plans and the recent changes in the airline’s policy and general strategy.

With more than 30 years of experience in the airline and global travel industry, Carsten Schaeffer remains confident in Cypriot market. “Cyprus has seen a few changes in the aviation industry and our company also had to make some adjustments in order to ensure its future. Over the past year we have changed our business model, our shareholders structure and the network. We have also adjusted the capacity and we have evaluated the profitability of each of our destinations. Today, we are on our way to fulfill our strategy in becoming a low complexity airline, easy do deal with and competitive on our fares. We have adjusted our routes to UK and we remain focused on our Greek routes and of course our main base in Romania, Bucharest”.

Asked about the future plans of Blue Air in Cyprus, Schaeffer announced that the carrier has plans for a new route from Larnaca, starting next summer - with further details about this new route to be communicated in the coming months.

“After more than a year of consolidation, Blue Air is prepared for growth and we are ready to start with small investments in our network. We drive today towards a sustained, consistent and profitable business model. And together with Orthodoxou Aviation, our long-lasting partner in the region, our Cypriot market remains an important focus point in our strategy”, added Carsten Schaeffer, Blue Air’s CCO.
