The Economic Model of the Next Decade to Be Discussed at The AKEL Economic Policy Forum

The Economic Policy Forum will be organised by AKEL on February 14-15 at the ‘Filoxenia’ Conference Centre in Nicosia and will focus on the Cyprus economy’s challenges and prospects over the next decade.


The Forum, under the title "Building the economy of the next decade", aims to provide an in-depth debate, analysis and an exchange of views on the economic model that Cyprus should seek over the following ten years, through the implementation of policies that have as priority the development of the real economy with a focus on the well-being of people. An economy that is in harmony with growth, social prosperity and the protection of natural resources, based on solid foundations in a way that safeguards future endurance and protection from risks.

In the past decade, they have occurred some of the most extensive changes that led to the establishment of new data in both the global and Cypriot economy. Within this framework, and in view of the 2010-2020 decade, the Economic Policy Forum will touch on all factors pertaining to the Cypriot and international economic environment within this crucial transition period, tackling issues such as tax policy, the green economy, sustainable development, labor market and social rights.

Distinguished speakers from Cyprus and abroad will take part, while government officials, politicians, diplomats, as well as leaders of businesses, organizations and economic agencies will be present.
