MTN: Widest 4G Coverage in Cyprus

By completing the biggest investment ever made in its network, a total of €23 million, MTN now has the network with the widest 4G coverage in Cyprus, bringing its subscribers even closer and offering them even more complete and reliable communication.

MTN's network offers 93% population and 75% geographical 4G coverage as well as 99% population and 95% geographical 3G coverage. MTN overturns the traditional status quo in the telecommunications industry in Cyprus and offers even to the most remote locations in the country, the MTN 4G network experience. Specifically, more than 200 villages have joined the MTN 4G network, while many communities such as Kato Pyrgos, Dierona, Polemi, Argaka, Asgata, Trachoni, Tersefanou, Menoiko, Tsada, Pegeia, Drousia Eptagonia, Panw Kyvides, Pachna, Kolossi, Erimi, Palodia welcome the 4G technology in their village for the first time, resulting in much higher internet speeds for the people living in those areas.

This has resulted in Cyprus being ranked among the top European countries in terms of services, far exceeding the EU average percentage, while last year it was in the penultimate position of the same list. MTN plays a key role at Cyprus’ development and the upgrading of its infrastructure, making the country an even more attractive investment and tourism destination and upgrading its role in the wider Southeast Mediterranean region.
