Live Demonstration Event at the Celestyal Ship Management Training Facilities

At the Celestyal Ship Management Training Facilities at Limassol Port showcased to an audience of top level executives a powerful, show and tell productive, informative and fun live demonstration of two excellent products; Restech PLT® line thrower where a fire line was launched exceeding 250 mtrs.  The PLT, in compliance with SOLAS 74/96 regulation having NO expiration date so lasting the lifetime of a vessel was tried and tested by top executives of shipowning and shipmanagement companies.

“It was great to actually see the equipment in use and to use it.  We are purchasing these things over the years but we never get the chance to see them in action!,” said Sandra Panayiotou, Purchasing Manager at Maestro Ship Management.

Shipowners and Shipmanagers will definitely reap the benefits of this new multi device offering various projectiles that can be utilized in different types of operations, quite often for transferring lines in both work and rescue operations at sea and on land with its practical wide range of lines, take a return on their investment. The second device was the remarkably innovative HydroPen System taking container firefighting to new heights, at deck level and below deck.  The audience was captivated with the more expedient and safer mode of extinguishing potentially costly fires in high stacked containers.  The system was powered by water pressure from the fire main complete with telescopic lift efficiently targeting the burning container by drilling through its solid steel door, automatically switching mode to extinguishing the fire threat thus safeguarding valuable seafarers’ lives, cargo, vessel and environment. 

With the amazing support of great people involved with the live “show and tell” live demonstrations materializing; Celestyal Ship Management Training Facilities team, Fire Manager for Defence Fire & Rescue Cyprus Ltd, Cyprus Ports Authority, Cyprus Fire Department, as well as, those behind the scenes who attributed their aptitude and contribution of great teamwork spirit, the event was considered a success.
