Cyprus Shipping Chamber Launches Official Twitter Account

The Cyprus Shipping Chamber, as the official representative of the Cyprus Shipping Industry, paid tribute to “World Maritime Day” 2018, which has been established and celebrated by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) every year at the end of September, with a dedicated Member’s Meeting on 24 September, 2018 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Limassol. The “World Maritime Day” celebrates the international maritime industry’s contribution towards the world’s economy. The theme for the year is "IMO 70: Our Heritage – Better Shipping for a Better Future".

During the Member’s Meeting, Dr. Christos Atalianis, Senior Marine Surveyor, Shipping Deputy Ministry, presented the structure and commendable work of the IMO, along with a presentation on the IMO Maritime Ambassador Scheme by the Chamber’s Marine Manager and IMO Maritime Ambassador for Cyprus, Alexandros Josephides. The two short films developed for this day’s celebrations by the IMO, were also shown.

Furthermore, the Chamber is participating at the official celebrations for the “World Maritime Day” 2018 by the IMO, which are held at the IMO Headquarters in London on 27 September 2018.

Also, on the occasion of the “World Maritime Day” 2018, the Shipping Chamber, is pleased to announce the launch of its official Twitter account, aiming to further promote Cyprus Shipping and its Members-Companies both locally and abroad, illustrate the Chamber’s multifaceted work and share important developments related to Cyprus and International Shipping.
