Cyprus FinTech Expo 3.0: Digital Payments And Security

The Cyprus FinTech Expo 3.0 will take place on Thursday, 16 January 2020, at Hilton Nicosia (formerly Hilton Park), in Cyprus. This will be a unique event as, alongside the conference presentations, the delegates will have the opportunity to attend an exposition of the latest disrupting technologies in the world of financial services.  Distinguished professionals from the field of Fintech, both from Cyprus and abroad, will talk about Blockchain, Open Banking, Digital Payments, Regtech and all the new trends that will shape the ecosystem of FinTech in 2020, especially in Cyprus. The conference will be separated in four sessions; Cyprus as a Fintech Center, Fintech and Banking, Digital Payments and New technologies.

Among the distinguished speakers of the session of Digital Payments will be Christiana Aristidou, Leading Partner - Technology Business Lawyer of Christiana Aristidou LLC. Christiana Aristidou will talk about how the Self-sovereign identity (SSI) system puts users in ownership and control of their digital identity. Christiana is a Technology and Business Lawyer with 22 years in practice and a strong academic background. She is a Certified Legal Project Practitioner and litigator since 1997. Christiana is a National Delegate to ISO TC/307 Blockchain Committee, and co-founding member and Vice-Chair of the Cyprus Blockchain Association. She has dealt extensively with platform legal engineering and architecture, start-up projects and funding (i.e. ICOs,STOs,IPOs).

Another remarkable speaker of the Digital Payments session will be Nikos Goutsoulas, Head of Financial Services of Athens Technology Center, Greece, whose presentation will be focused on Contemporary Smart Banks and how they secure rapid digital transformation with absolutely no compromise on time to market, user engagement, and security. Nikos Goutsoulas has spent more than 15 years working with top-notch financial institutions worldwide, holding several senior roles for Oracle Financial Services and serving as the Group Chief Commercial Officer of Capital Banking Solutions, among others. Nikos introduced the first e-banking platform in the Greek Market back in 1998. Before that, he had been working with multiple corporations in California, USA, like Atmel Inc, PeopleSoft Inc and PWC Americas as a contractor, involved in different kinds of IT related projects. Nikos holds a B.Sc degree in Mathematics, a M.Sc. degree holder in Software Engineering, and a PhD Cand from the City University of London.
