Registered Unemployed Decrease 15.6% in November

Registered Unemployed Decrease 15.6% in November

The number of registered unemployed for November 2018 decreased 15.6% in November 2018, according to the seasonally adjusted data released Wednesday 5 December by the Statistical Service of Cyprus.
 
The unemployed persons, registered at the District Labour Offices on the last day of November 2018, reached 28,514 persons.
 
The number of unemployed for November 2018 decreased to 24,887 persons in comparison to 25,219 in the previous month and 30,709 in November 2017.
 
In comparison with November 2017, a decrease of 5.266 persons or 15,6% was recorded which was mainly observed in the sectors of trade (a decrease of 1.131 unemployed persons), public administration (a decrease of 939), construction (a decrease of 633), manufacturing (a decrease of 609), accommodation and food service activities (a decrease of 317), education (a decrease of 201) and to newcomers in the labour market (a decrease of 1.472).
