The Industrial Turnover Index recorded a decrease of 7.9% for the period January – November 2020, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, according to a press release by the Statistical Service of Cyprus, on Friday.
For the local market the index showed a decrease of 10%, while for exports an increase of 4.3%. In November 2020 the Index reached 131.9 units (base 2015=100), recording a decrease of 5.7% compared to November 2019.
For manufacturing, the Industrial Turnover Index for November 2020 reached 138.5 units (base 2015=100), recording a decrease of 3.6% compared to November 2019. A decrease of 19.7% was also observed in the sector of electricity supply.
On the contrary, increases of 10.1% and 0.7% were noted in the water supply and materials recovery sector and in the mining and quarrying sector respectively.
