The Harmonized Price Index for March 2018 decreased by 0.4% when compared to March 2017, while compared to February of 2018 increased by 0.9%. For the period January-March 2018 the HICP recorded a decrease of -0.8% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
Compared to March 2017, the largest changes were noted in Clothing and Footwear (-5.6%) and Furnishings, Household Equipment and Routine Maintenance of the House (-3.5%).
In comparison to HICP of February 2018, the largest change was recorded in Clothing and Footwear (7.8%).
For the period January-March 2018, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the largest change was noted in Clothing and Footwear (-5.5%).
As regards to the economic origin, the largest change when compared both to the index of March 2017 and to the index of the previous month, was observed in Non-Energy Industrial Goods with a percentage of -2.7% and 2.2% respectively.
