Government Prepares Bill to Address Problems Faced by Entrepreneurs

President of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades, assured on Friday that the government gave incentives and was making every effort to encourage investments.

Speaking at an event organized on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Cypriot company KEAN, in Limassol, the President said that within the next weeks the government will submit to the parliament a bill that foresees the setup of a “one stop shop” and the introduction of “fast track” procedures to overcome problems faced by entrepreneurs, the CNA reports.

Anastasiades assured that the government aimed to further enhance every effort of Cypriot entrepreneurship by creating conditions for investment on the basis of a business-friendly economic environment, noting that “in addition to incentives, doing business requires speedy decision making”.

“We give incentives and we make every effort to encourage investments”, he said, but added that “unfortunately, it seems that bureaucratic obstacles do not allow entrepreneurs to invest”.
