Government Labour Force Reaches 50,621 People

Government Labour Force Reaches 50,621 People

The government labour force increased by 555 persons (1.1%) in January 2018 compared to January 2017 and reached 50,621 persons. The casual staff increased by 8.0% and reached 14,895 persons in January 2018 compared to 13,793 persons in January 2017. Permanent staff decreased by 547 persons (-1.5%).

In January 2018, increase is observed in all the categories of government labour force compared to January 2017. The largest increase is observed in category Hourly Paid Workers (3.8%) which in the casual staff is increased by 110.4% (370 persons).

Compared to December 2017 all the categories decreased except Education which is increased by 15 persons (0.1%). A drop of -1.3% is observed in the category Hourly Paid Workers in which the number of casual staff is decreased by 109 persons (-13.4%).
