Government Employment by Category: November 2019

Total Employment: 52.504

 

In November 2019 total government employment increased by 445 persons (0,9%) in comparison to

the corresponding month of 2018 and reached 52.504 persons. Permanent staff decreased by 548

persons (-1,9%), from 28.419 to 27.871 persons.

 

Casual staff increased by 7,2% and reached 16.079 persons compared to 15.003 persons in November 2018.

During the period January - November 2019 the total government employment increased by 358

persons (0,7%) compared to the corresponding period of 2018.


Compared to November 2018 there is an increase of staff in all personnel categories with the largest

observed in Education (3,0%) and more specifically in the number of casual staff which increased by

17,9% (649 persons).

 

Compared to October 2019, a decrease is observed in both Civil Service and Security Forces with the

largest increase in the permanent staff of Civil Service (-0,4%). Education staff increased by 125

persons (0,9%).
