Construction Prices and Production Up In Q1 2018

Construction prices and production were up in the first quarter of 2018, data released by the Cyprus Statistical Service, on Tuesday 10 July, show.

According to the data, the Output Prices Index in Construction for the first quarter of 2018 reached 99.3 units (base year 2010=100.0), recording an increase of 0.7% over the fourth quarter of 2017.

Compared to the same quarter of the previous year, the index recorded an increase of 3.8%, the Cyprus News Agency reports.

By type of project, an increase of 4.5% was observed for buildings and of 2.1% for civil engineering projects in the first quarter of 2018 compared to the corresponding quarter of 2017.

At the same time, the Index of Production in Construction for the first quarter of 2018 reached 62.7 units (base year 2010=100.0), recording an increase of 5.1% over the first quarter of 2017.

By type of project, an increase of 5.4% was observed for buildings and of 3.4% for civil engineering projects in the first quarter of 2018 compared to the same quarter of 2017.
