Petrolina Supports the Promotion of Cyprus as an Investment Destination

Cypriot petroleum company Petrolina, hosted a multi-party diplomatic mission on 15 March 2019, thereby boosting the common effort to promote Cyprus as an attractive investment destination.

In the framework of the visit, over 40 diplomats from 23 countries met with Petrolina’s Board of Directors at the company’s headquarters in Larnaca. Petrolina’s Managing Director (CEO), Dinos Lefkaritis, presented the Company and replied to the visitors’ questions on the company’s investments, as well as its upcoming move to its new terminal at the Vasilikos Energy Centre. 

The diplomats’ visit to Cyprus, from countries such as Belgium, Germany, Greece, the United States, Uzbekistan, Portugal, Italy and many other countries, took place between 13-16 March, 2019. It was organised by Enterprise Greece, in cooperation with the club of Economic and Commercial Advisors of Foreign Embassies in Greece and the Embassy of Cyprus in Athens. The visit aimed at promoting business investment opportunities in Cyprus.  

Petrolina, as one of Cyprus’ biggest companies, with huge investments on the island, providing hundreds of jobs, participated in this initiative which was supported by the Ministries of Energy, Commerce and Industry and Foreign Affairs, the Deputy Ministries of Shipping and Tourism, the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), the Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB) and the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency (Invest Cyprus) among others. It’s worth noting that Petrolina sponsored the mission’s accommodation in Cyprus.

During their stay, the 43 envoys met with the spokesperson of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr Prodromos Prodoromou and other Ministers and Deputy Ministers, while they also visited the under-development Ayia Napa marina project and the Limassol marina.
