Navigating Data Privacy Laws In A Complex Data & Business Environment

Navigating Data Privacy Laws In A Complex Data & Business Environment

IMH is organising the 6th International Compliance Forum on 24-25 September 2020 to discuss the latest developments and trends in corporate governance, and the current challenges facing the global compliance and ethics community. The event will run online.

Τhis year’s forum will focus on the challenges and opportunities that are expected to revolutionise the compliance function over the next decade. The 6th International Compliance Forum will welcome a number of high calibre international speakers who will discuss how the compliance function has progressed over the years, and exchange views on how organisations can use their compliance function to enable change and offer their business the competitive advantage it needs.

One of this year’s speakers is Steve Wright, the CEO and Partner at Privacy Culture in the UK. Having worked in the industry for over 25 years, Steve is an authority on data privacy and cyber security. In that time, he has held the principal information, privacy and data security roles for companies such as John Lewis, Unilever, Deloitte, PwC, Siemens, etc. A technology enthusiast, he remains fascinated by the incredible things that can be done with data. Yet he understands only too well the risks to reputation and privacy in a world where social media, cyber security, legislation, fraud and regulatory complexities are rife. Today, Wright advises senior leadership in all things related to the safeguarding of personal data, protecting brand image, and -above all- building consumer trust. In his presentation, Wright will discuss the latest developments in the privacy / GDPR legal landscape (including examining some of the fines applied by regulators) and the complexities associated with demonstrating compliance to demystify what good compliance looks like.
