Invest Cyprus Announces The Cyprus Startup Virtual Pitch Competition

Invest Cyprus announces the launch of “Cyprus Startup Virtual Pitch Competition”, which will be held on Wednesday, July 29. The online competition is part of the organisation's wider efforts to enrich the Startup ecosystem of the country, by attracting foreign investment and strategic partnerships.

 

The “Cyprus Startup Virtual Pitch Competition” is co-organised with the “Annual Investment Meeting (AIM)”, an initiative of the UAE Ministry of Economy. The contest is part of a series of national competitions. The winning Startup of each country will have the opportunity to participate in a global league, where all the teams will compete with each other, aiming for first place.

 

The “Cyprus Startup Virtual Pitch Competition” is open for all Cypriot Startups who meet the following conditions:

Have less than 50 employees

Are at least 2 to 7 years old

Have an annual turnover of €30,000 to €850,000

Have received at least one sponsorship 

 

And match the categories listed by the organisation:

Growth 

Social impact category

Best use of innovation category

Climate and environmental impact category

Privacy - data protection and compliance

 

In the first phase, the participants will go through an evaluation. The top 10 startups will pass through the next phase and earn the opportunity to introduce their business at the grand final, which will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2020. 

 

Following that, the winning Startup of Cyprus will represent our country at the “AIM 2020 Global Startups Champions League” which will be held as part of the international event “Annual Investment Meeting (AIM)”, in Dubai. During the competition, the winning team will have the opportunity to meet investors, corporates, government officials and other innovators from all over the world. 

 

Additionally, the top 3 Cypriot Startups will be given the opportunity to accompany the team of Invest Cyprus on one of their missions abroad.

 

Call for Applications

Applications will be open from June 29-July 17 (before midnight). Those who are interested can fill in the entry form and submit it online at www.investcyprus.org.cy.
