For almost 50 years, the shipping sector has been a major contributor to the Cypriot economy, fact that makes the 2018 creation of a dedicated Deputy Ministry of Shipping seem remarkably long overdue. Nonetheless, it did happen and earlier this month, GOLD invited Deputy Minister of Shipping Natasa Pilides to get together with a handful of the key industry players in an informal setting and participate in an exchange of views, which would become the basis of this month’s cover story (published on Sunday, May 19).

The discussion covered numerous topics, including the visibility of the industry, shipping as a profession, industry trends and the advantages (and single disadvantage) of being part of the Cyprus maritime cluster.

The shipping theme is continued with a presentation of the staff and Board of the Cyprus Shipping Chamber, while away from maritime matters, the latest issue of GOLD features interviews with technology expert Monty Munford, Daniel Lösche, Investment Strategist at Schroders, and Tina Adatia, Executive Vice President and Product Strategist at PIMCO and more.

Don’t miss GOLD magazine, available from Sunday, May 19 in both print and digital versions.
