GOLD Magazine: Ayia Napa Marina

GOLD Magazine: Ayia Napa Marina

Thirty years ago, the once sleepy village of Ayia Napa was enjoying a new reputation as Europe’s clubbing capital that was second only to Ibiza. Although a great deal has changed since then, the resort still comes alive for a few summer months, overrun by young partygoers from around the world. It would appear that all that is due to change over the next 24 months as Ayia Napa Marina, the area’s biggest-ever construction project, reaches completion, transforming the area into a totally different high-end destination.

The man behind the project is Egyptian billionaire Naguib Sawiris, who is pictured on the cover of the latest issue of GOLD (published on Sunday, June 16) and, together with his Cypriot partner Stavros Caramondanis, speaks to the magazine about the investment and the latest developments in this major project.

The second main feature in this month’s GOLD concerns the country’s thriving and hugely important accounting profession. It includes the views of senior representatives of 32 accounting firms, and of the outgoing President of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC), on the challenges facing the profession and how they envision the accounting/audit firms of the future. The 50 biggest firms are also ranked in the magazine’s latest listing.

Don’t miss GOLD magazine, available from Sunday, June 16 in both print and digital versions.
