First Names Group Director Appointed Chair of STEP Jersey

First Names Group’s Client Services Director, Lorraine Wheeler has been appointed as Chair of Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Jersey branch.

STEP is a professional body for trust and estate professionals worldwide providing its members with a local, national and international learning and business network. Lorraine, a former committee member of the Bermuda and Suisse Romande branches, was elected at the AGM last week.

She previously served as Vice-Chair and Secretary of the Branch and will take over from Tony Pitcher who held the position for two years.

The Jersey branch is one of the largest in the world with over 1,200 members.

Wheeler has worked in the Fiduciary Sector for 27 years moving from the UK to Jersey via Bermuda and Switzerland.  Having qualified with an ACIB Trustee Diploma and been granted a fellowship, she holds an Honours Degree in Financial Services and is a member of STEP.

“Since I joined STEP in 1993, I have been hugely impressed with the organisation and its members,” Wheeler commented. “I am extremely honoured to chair the Jersey Committee and I look forward to building on the fantastic leadership, which STEP Jersey has enjoyed in the past.”
