Cyprus Re-elected at IMO Council

Cyprus Re-elected at IMO Council

During the General Assembly of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), which was held on Friday, 27 November 2015 in London, Cyprus was re-elected as a Member of the IMO Council for a further two years.

The Cyprus Shipping Chamber congratulates the Cyprus Maritime Administration and particularly, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works and the Department of Merchant Shipping for achieving this very important election for Cyprus Shipping.

The re-election of Cyprus to the International Maritime Organisation, which is the responsible body for determining the global maritime policy and legislation, is very important as in this way, Cyprus will continue to be able to contribute actively in the drafting of International Shipping policy, as well as to promote the interests of Cyprus Shipping globally.
