Cyprus Innovation Awards Competition 2020

The submission of applications for the Cyprus Innovation Awards Competition 2020 has just begun. If your company, organization or service have successfully implemented an innovative idea or practice that deserves recognition, do not hesitate to take part in this year’s Cyprus Innovation Awards Competition.

For the 14th consecutive year, the Cyprus Innovation Awards Competition by OEB recognizes the best and most innovative ideas that have been successfully implemented by Cypriot companies, organizations and services in both the private and public sector. The Competition rewards the effective and innovative implementation of new processes, products and practices with the aim of satisfying customer demand or solving a specific problem in a company, the society or the economy in general.

Last year, the Cyprus Innovation Awards 2019, among tens of candidates, stood out and awarded the following:

Primary sector: CM Dragon Land Ltd, for the construction of a dragon fruit network, in the area of Agios Georgios Alamanos.

Manufacturing Sector: NIPD Genetics Public Company Limited, for the creation of the innovative VERAgene test. It is the world's first comprehensive, non-invasive prenatal test, which can simultaneously detect aneuploidy syndromes, micronutrient deficiencies and 50 genetic diseases.

Service Sector: Cloudlayer8 Ltd (CL8), for the state-of-the-art Data Center it has created, aiming to fill the gap in the needs of Cypriot and international companies in the field of digital data storage.

Public Sector: Center for Excellence in Research and Innovation "Koios" of the University of Cyprus, for the creation of the innovative software "SwiftTag". SwiftTag aims to automate the operations of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, known as drones, for their implementation in search and rescue operations.

If you belong to one of the above sectors, then you can participate to this competition!

Also, for the first time, OEB announces the Social Innovation Award. Social innovation can be defined as the process of developing and deploying effective solutions to challenging and often systemic social and environmental issues in support of social progress.
