Cybercrime Demystified for Non-Technical Audiences

Cybercrime Demystified for Non-Technical Audiences

According to the “World Economic Forum (WEF) Global Risks 2016 Report”, cyber-attacks rank among the top concerns of doing business around the world. Most cybercrime incidents go unreported, and few companies come forward with information on their losses. That is not surprising given the risk to an organisation’s reputation and the prospect of legal action against those that own up to cybercrime.

Since the cyber-attacks have become more frequent and it is difficult to predict them, the know-how about cyber-security is vital for preparing for this kind of attacks and to protect organisations and its clients. The role of the experts in the field is important in preparing for and preventing threatening situations, but it is also important for all business owners, board members, and managers to have a solid awareness about cyber security.

During this lecture the speaker will address the topics of cyber threats, cyber operations, and cyber weapons as well as building the cyber security in a society will be discussed. The lecture will be presented by Dr. Dimitrios Patsos who is the Chief Technology Officer of ADACOM S.A., a leading Cyber Security solutions provider in EMEA.

The level of the lecture is appropriate for all staff including CEO, directors, compliance officers, risk managers, audit and IT staff, HR staff, and any other person in the organization who should be interested about this so important topic.

Attendees will be equipped to explain cybersecurity in non-technical terms and to ask the right questions of technical teams.

This is a free public lecture organized by the Cyprus International Businesses Association (CIBA) and the European Institute of Management and Finance (EIMF).

The lecture will take place on April 13th at 6:00 pm at the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Centre in Limassol. All, who are interested about the lecture, are the most welcome to come, registration is required and you can register by emailing CIBA at ciba@ciba-cy.org
