Building Permits Rise by 5% in January – March

Building Permits Rise by 5% in January – March

Building permits issued in Cyprus in the period of January - March 2019 increased by an annual 5.01% reaching 1,591 compared with 1,515 in the respective period of last year, the Cyprus Statistical Service (Cystat) said on Tuesday 11 June.
 
The value of the permits issued in the first quarter of 2019 increased by an annual 13% amounting to €464.4 million compared with €410.3 million in January – March of 2018.

According to Cystat the total area of the issued permits also increased by 13% reaching 427,005 square metres in the first three months of 2019 compared to 378,933 in the respective period of 2018.

In March building permits amounted to 522 declined marginally from 531 in March 2018. On a monthly basis building permits issued in March marked their third consecutive reduction.
