Bottega Gold Awarded Master Medal for the Second Time

Bottega Gold Awarded Master Medal for the Second Time
After having won the prestigious Master Medal in 2015, Bottega Gold made it again and received the highest recognition in the latest edition of the “Prosecco Masters”, the competition organised by the British magazine The Drinks Business.
The jury, composed of Masters of Wine, Master Sommeliers and senior buyers, tasted approximately 160 wines on their style and price, in a blind tasting session – which grants the anonymity of the tasted sample.
This medal (the 26th recognition achieved over the past 10 years) rewards the company’s efforts to produce a premium prosecco featuring the highest standard of quality in the category. The tasting panel has recognised a value that results from several elements combined:
· Grapes are grown in Valdobbiadene, in the heart of the hilly DOCG area; the bunches are selected when hand-picked (according to their degree of maturation and their health condition), and gently handled to preserve their integrity;
· The vineyards are composed of plants of different ages, conveying the perfect balance of the compounds which deliver quality to a wine: aromas given by older vines, and acidity given by younger plants;
· Bottega Gold is produced to order, to ensure maximum freshness. In the winery, one single fermentation directly transforms the grape must into sparkling wine, hence preserving in full the delicate aromas of the grape: white flowers (acacia, wisteria, lily of the valley), green apple, pear and citrus.
Since 2001, Bottega S.p.A. distributes the metallized bottles in over 120 countries worldwide. These iconic items, produced with a complex finishing process, has contributed to build the company’s reputation for being an original and innovative winemaker. Due to this worldwide success, Bottega Gold has been the object of many flagrant imitation attempts.
The company, holders of the product’s patent, have had its rights legally recognized on several occasions. In March 2018, EUIPO (The European Office for Intellectual Property responsible for managing the EU trade mark and the registered Community design) has confirmed the validity of the trademarks owned by Bottega.
