Looking into the Next Decade: The World in 2020-2030

Looking into the Next Decade: The World in 2020-2030

IMH and IN Business are organising the 10th Limassol Economic Forum on Friday, 18 October 2019 at the Parklane Resort & Spa in Limassol.

Since 2010, the Forum has gained a reputation as being the biggest and most prestigious business gathering in Cyprus, at which renowned personalities from around the world share their expertise, experience and knowledge.

A decade after its launch, the Limassol Economic Forum remains the most high-profile and eagerly awaited event of the year. Its focus is on the latest global economic trends, as well as developments in Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean. Political, economic, business and academic leaders make wide-ranging presentations at the Forum, which has become a platform for debate as a means to help improve the current regional economic climate.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Christodoulides, will open this year’s Forum with a welcome address. The Forum will also welcome author and New York Times columnist Roger Cohen, whose presentation is entitled Disruption and Development in the 21st Century Economy. Cohen will argue that today, three years into a tumultuous Trump presidency, the world is more combustible than at any time in recent memory with the post-1945 American-led order dead and a lack of clarity about what will take its place. He considers how European integration has stalled, a post-Brexit unravelling is not impossible, Putin’s Russia is resurgent and China is more assertive, with the likelihood of a China-led world by 2050 becoming ever more inevitable.

The 10th Limassol Economic Forum, which will welcome more than 400 senior executives from the services sector, will be conducted in English.
